By purchasing a “Table Seating” ticket you agree to also purchase a minimum of two food and/or beverage items per person. Table seating is first come, first seated. Please arrive early for the best choice of available seats. Seating begins when doors open. Tables are communal so you may be seated with other patrons. We do not take table reservations.

A standing room area is available by the bar for all guests who purchase “Standing Room” tickets. Food and beverage can be purchased at the bar but there is no minimum purchase required in this area.

All tickets sales are final. No refund or credits.

Nico Muhly & Pekka Kuusisto – SOLD OUT!

Nico Muhly has composed a wide scope of work for ensembles, soloists and organizations including the American Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, Carnegie Hall, Chicago Symphony, countertenor Iestyn Davies, violinist Hilary Hahn, choreographer Benjamin Millepied, New York City Ballet, New York Philharmonic, Paris Opéra Ballet, soprano Jessica Rivera, and designer/illustrator Maira Kalman.
 
Among Muhly’s most frequent collaborators are his colleagues at Bedroom Community, an artist-run label headed by Icelandic musician Valgeir Sigurðsson. Bedroom Community was inaugurated in 2007 with the release of Muhly’s first album, Speaks Volumes. In spring 2012, Bedroom Community released Muhly’s three-part Drones & Music, in collaboration with pianist Bruce Brubaker, violinist Pekka Kuusisto, and violist Nadia Sirota.
 
Born in Vermont in 1981 and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, Muhly graduated from Columbia University with a degree in English Literature. In 2004, he received a Masters in Music from the Juilliard School, where he studied under Christopher Rouse and John Corigliano. His writings and full schedule can be found at www.nicomuhly.com.

In the 2012/13 season, Pekka Kuusisto gives the world premiere of Sebastian Fagerlund’s Violin Concerto, written for him and commissioned by the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra. He also travels to North America to work with Ottawa’s NAC Orchestra, Washington’s National Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra as part of their New Creations Festival, which includes the North American premiere of Owen Pallett’s Violin Concerto as well as a performance of Four Iconoclastic Episodes with guitarist and composer Steve Mackey. In Europe, he returns to Swedish Chamber Orchestra and Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and debuts with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin.
 
Recent performances have included a critically-acclaimed international tour with Britten Sinfonia, performing Adès’ Violin Concerto under the baton of the composer. Last season also saw him appear with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Oslo Philharmonic and Moscow State Symphony orchestras.
 
As a director, Pekka regularly works with the Britten Sinfonia and the Australian, London, Irish and St Paul Chamber Orchestras, as well as the Amsterdam and Västerås Sinfoniettas. Recent recital partners include Iiro Rantala, Anne Sofie von Otter, Angela Hewitt, Kimmo Pohjonen and Nicolas Altstaedt (with whom he tours to Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and Konzerthaus Dortmund in November 2012). Pekka has also enjoyed a number of prestigious residencies, including at the Aldeburgh Festival and most recently at the Concertgebouw’s Robeco Zomerconcerten in 2012.
