Yum’s the Word 3-Year Anniversary Show

“Yum’s The Word” is a new show that blends old-fashioned birthday parties with modern- day storytelling. Each month comedian and storyteller, Robin Gelfenbien, throws a party for an audience member replete with Mad Libs, balloon animals and homemade ice cream cakes. Join Robin and some of New York City’s best storytellers for a sweet and decadent night of juicy stories and treats.

Josh Blau

Having spent more than 20 years of dealing with the IRS and the Department of Labor, Josh Blau, a Manhattan CPA by day, enjoys taking the microphone and sharing his world views which inevitably include some wonderful (and terrifying) adventures with his wife, her family, their 5 children, including 11-year-old triplets, and of course, his mother. He’s been featured on the Moth podcast, the Moth Mainstage show and has won 3 Moth Story Slams.

Dave Hill

Dave Hill is a comedian, writer, musician, and actor living in New York City in an apartment he pays for with his own money. Dave has starred in his own television show The King of Miami, which was cancelled. He has also appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, Cinemax, MTV, VH1, and some other channels. In 2007, Variety Magazine named Dave one of their “10 Comics to Watch,” something he won’t shut up about. Dave has written for the New York Times, Salon, and HuffPo and is also a contributor to NPR’s This American Life. He has a rock band called Valley Lodge.

Blaise Allysen Kearsley

Blaise Allysen Kearsley is a writer and storyteller, as well as the creator, producer and host of The How I Learned Series, and she also does some other stuff, too. She’s appeared on The Rejection Show, The Liar Show, The Soundtrack Series, Real Characters,The Story Collider, Steamboat, Mortified, Cringe, Literary Death Match and elsewhere. Her writing has been published in The Nervous Breakdown, Vice Magazine, a couple of anthologies, and several other places a long time ago that are perhaps not worth mentioning by name. One time, she was awarded a writing residency in Vermont where she got electrocuted and maybe almost killed a horse. Visit her at your own risk at www.bazima.com (“buh-z-eye-muh”)

Tracy Rowland

Tracy Rowland is a writer, storyteller and TV editor. She is also that rare New Yorker who likes to talk. Except she’s from New Jersey, which makes her rarer still. She has appeared onstage with The Moth, The Liar Show and the notorious BTK Band. She makes her living as a promotion and marketing editor and is, among other things, responsible for that Dateline promo involving 50-year-olds
