The Book Report Reading

Once upon a time you were in third grade and you had to give book reports and it was awesome. The Book Report promises to deliver exactly what it promises: reports on books by the people who’ve read them. Join Leigh Stein and Sasha Fletcher and assorted literate guests for an evening that will remind you of 3rd grade in the best possible way.

Tonya Canada

Tonya Canada writes humorous essays about uncomfortable things. This usually involves her parents. Samples can be found at tonyacanada.com.

Todd Anderson

Todd Anderson creates poetic experiences using a projector, code, sound design and a wireless USB keyboard he wears around his neck. He calls this Hotwriting. He is a co-owner of Babycastles, host of the monthly WordHack language+technology series, and has a futuristic ebook forthcoming from Instar Books. See more at toddpoet.com.

Sarah Bridgins

Sarah Bridgins is a writer and performer living in Brooklyn. Her poems have appeared in Sink Review, MonkeyBicycle, InDigest, and Two Serious Ladies among other journals. Her book reviews and interviews have been featured in Bookslut, The Rumpus, and the New York Daily News. You can find more of her writing at sbridgins.tumblr.com.

Jeff Simpson

Jeff Simpson grew up in southwest Oklahoma in a home decorated with taxidermic marvels. He is the author of Vertical Hold (Steel Toe Books, 2011), which was a finalist for The National Poetry Series. His poems have recently appeared in Forklift, Ohio, Prairie Schooner, Cimarron Review, Harpur Palate and others. He now lives in Brooklyn, works for The Academy of American Poets, and edits The Fiddleback, an online arts & literature magazine.
