Having released seven solo albums in eight years Adam Green is already renowned around the globe as one of music’s most unique and prolific song writing talents.
 
A New York native, Green was just 17-years old when he recorded and released his first album. As part of the downtown antifolk scene at the end of the nineties he made up one-half of The Moldy Peaches, the acclaimed duo with Kimya Dawson that enjoyed belated mainstream success via the Grammy-winning soundtrack of the 2007 Academy Award-winning movie Juno.
 
As a skinny and effervescently articulate teenager he was a regular fixture at East Village music clubs. His poignant and idiosyncratic song writing was matched by a contagious excitement and enthusiasm for his craft. Since then, the former troubadour wunderkind has become a notable figure to indie-pop fans around the world, making regular appearances in arts and culture magazines, television shows, music clubs and festivals. In Europe he established himself as a bone fide pop star with chart hits like “Jessica”, “Emily” and “Morning After Midnight”. When The Moldy Peaches belatedly found their place at #1 on the Billboard Charts, via the Juno soundtrack, Green had already enjoyed a string of successful albums under his own name and was deep into the creation of his films and visual art.
 
Recently his almost eruptive bursts of creativity have led him into the world of movies and visual arts, with writing/producing/directing and acting in The Wrong Ferarri,- a feature length “screwball tragedy” shot entirely on the iPhone and starring Macaulay Culkin, Alia Shawkat, Devendra Banhart, BP Fallon and Sky Ferreira – as well as the staging of four visual art exhibitions in New York City.
 
While on tour for his album Gemstones in 2005 Green exhibited a series of drawings called Animal Dreams at Loyal Gallery in Stockholm, Sweden. Following his debut NYC art show Teen Tech in 2010 Green became the first artist to show at Dustin Yellin’s Red Hook space, The Intercourse, with his Cartoon And Complaint exhibition. Cartoon And Complaint, inspired by such disparate characters as Garfield and Aladdin, was quickly followed by another solo exhibition, Houseface, at The Hole gallery in downtown NYC in August 2012. Exhibition A will be releasing a print from that show at the end of October 2012. Most recently he has formed an art collective 3MB with Macaulay Culkin and Toby Goodshank. Their first exhibit Leisure Inferno opened at Le Poisson Rouge Gallery in October 2012.
 
While creating visual art and film has become a fully realized passion for Green, his boundless energy for creative arts has most recently resulted in a brand new musical project. Adam Green & Binki Shapiro’s debut eponymous album will be released in January 2013. The bi-coastal friendship-turned-musical-partnership is one of tender duets, written by the pair in the wake of coincidentally simultaneous romantic disappointments.
 
Of his now multifaceted career Green, says: “You know how people are always looking for a unifying theory? I was looking for a unifying theory of artistic expression. I was trying to create some kind of fluidity within my music, art, writing. If you listen to my songs, you see they’re kind of cartoonish. I try to make songs like my paintings. When creating my movie, I tried to create more of a song.”

Bright Light Bright Light is the moniker of Welsh born, London based Rod Thomas who released his debut album ‘Make Me Believe In Hope’ last year to rave reviews. Hailed by Sunday Times Culture as “a songwriter of extraordinary dexterity”, by Elton John as the hottest new thing in music, ending up at no.4 in the Guardian Reader’s Albums of 2012 poll, and touring with Ellie Goulding, Erasure and Scissor Sisters, it’s clear that his late 80s/early 90s tinged electro-pop has found quite a few fans in the last few months.
 
Rod, “the boy Robyn in all but name” according to the NME, is performer, songwriter, producer and DJ. His debut record was put together with Boom Bip (Neon Neon), Andy Chatterley (Kylie, Nerina Pallot), The Invisible Men (Jessie J, Rita Ora, Iggy Azalea) and won the heart of journalists and fans alike since its release. Single ‘Waiting For The Feeling’ even brought key 90s production team Trouser Enthusiasts out of retirement for their first remix in 10 years, much to Rod’s joy. A remixer himself, his Kelis, Ellie Goulding and VV Brown mixes, and bootlegs peppered blogs throughout the last year. He made DJ mixes for Ministry Of Sound, fashion brands and magazines, DJd at Glastonbury, Bestival, Festival no.6, numerous Pride events, and runs successful London 90s clubnight ‘Another Night’ in Dalston’s Vogue Fabrics.
 
Spending some time in New York to promote the record in Spring 2013, he played a string of sold-out Bright Light Bright Light shows, appeared in New York Magazine’s Approval Matrix, been Time Out NY’s critic’s pick and been highlighted by Billboard Magazine as a “bubbling under” artist to watch.
 
Alongside making his own music, he’s also part of Slow Knights, a musical collective formed by Del Marquis of Scissor Sisters, whose debut album ‘Cosmos’ came out 25th March 2013 to very strong reviews and a lot of love from Billboard Magazine.

Little Annie aka Annie Anxiety Bandez, is a smokey contralto, raconteur and restless spirit who has spent the last 30 years creating a body of work that would take much more space than available here to list. Since stepping onto her first stage at the age of 16, her music – and her life – has defied categorization, limitations and/or restrictions her life often imitating her art and visa versa. A native New Yorker she is a chanteuse and lyricist, a self-taught painter, and multimedia artist, She has recorded with vanguard figures of late twentieth century music -bringing a blend of tortured soul/ sardonic humor & wild love & awe of life to tracks she’s cut with everyone from Adrian Sherwood & the ON-U Sound Stable to Crass to Current 93, COIL, The Wolfgang Press, Jennie Mathias, , Anthony Hegarty to Marc Almond. Other Music Recording Co.’s first release of 2013 comes from the label’s very first signing, Ex Cops, whose debut single launched the imprint last April. Formed by Brian Harding (formerly of Hymns) and Amalie Bruun (formerly of Minks), the Brooklyn band was born in 2011, issuing a short-run, homespun CD-EP of hazy, lo-fi recordings featuring Harding’s opaque bedroom-pop songwriting juxtaposed with the duo’s sun-kissed harmonies. Two of the tracks, “You Are a Lion, I Am a Lamb” b/w “The Millionaire,” were soon released to the world on vinyl as OM-001, and the pair continued to write new songs while simultaneously playing more live shows, now working as a proper five-piece rock band, with the addition of good friends Kai Kennedy on lead guitar, Leif Young Huckman on bass, and Sam Bair on the drums. Keeping a handful of Ex Cops’ early sessions in place, the newly expanded lineup took to the studio to record this full-length with John Siket (Blonde Redhead, Yo La Tengo, Sonic Youth, etc.) sitting in the production chair, the resulting True Hallucinations a mind-altering pop pill that maintains the intimate mood of the original group’s sound, but now presented in widescreen Technicolor.
 
Harding’s songs are effortlessly catchy, built from a timeless blend of gentle, somnambulant harmonies, chiming guitars, and loose swinging rhythms. You can detect influences ranging from vintage British and New Zealand indie pop (imagine the Chills covering Nick Lowe during “James”), to Factory Records atmospherics (“You Are a Lion, I Am a Lamb”), and closer to home, a little Velvets/Feelies jangle (“Broken Chinese Chairz”), along with a good dose of classic power-pop and the guitar-heavy sound of Teenage Fanclub (“Ken,” “Separator”). Yet in spite of this list of influences and precursors, Ex Cops’ music is very much their own, sounding at once both classic and modern, their sugary pop songs enshrouded in a unique psychedelic haze. Coming in at just over 30 minutes, the album never overstays its welcome, but living up to its name, True Hallucinations will linger in your head, making for a pop trip that you’ll return to again and again.

Gillian Rivers is a classical violinist/string arranger and orchestrator who has lately been working on her own album, but has also been in the studio playing viola for Pete Kember (aka Spacemen 3′s “Sonic Boom”) on a new record for the band “Cheval Sombre.” Also, she is recording on the upcoming TV on the Radio album, to be released Spring ’11, and performing with the Wordless Music Orchestra alongside Sigur Ros. She recently recorded strings for a soundtrack with TV on the Radio for the documentary, “The Lottery,” In the past, she has recorded with MGMT for their album “Celebration,” performed live with her ensemble, The City Strings, at MOMA and Radio City with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, as well as recorded and arranged strings for their latest record, “It’s Blitz” (the deluxe edition). She has appeared and/or arranged for artists such as Amazing Baby, the Silversun Pickups (live on MTV.com), Mono (with the Wordless Music Orchestra), Harper Simon, The Pierces, Nicole Atkins, Leona Naess, and many others. she has appeared live with Nicole Atkins on The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brian, and Later with Jools Holland in London. She continues to perform as a member of “The Wordless Music Orchestra,” which premiered Jonny Greenwood’s “Superhet Popcorn Receiver,” a.k.a., the soundtrack to “There Will be Blood.” A native of Rochester, NY, she attended Eastman Preparatory School, and went on to earn her bachelors Degree at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she served as concertmaster of the Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble.
