event description event description

Join Philadelphia beat-makers Zach Catarelli & Chris Coffey, aka Beam&Deem, to celebrate the release of their latest album, Just Another Day, slated to drop on the 21st of January 2014. Just Another Day is the duo’s first release since 2011’s Eight-Sided EP, and explores a new sonic territory to present a mature sound, years in the making. Whilst recording the new album, Beam&Deem has taken a new direction by utilizing the sound of silence. Using cassette tape recorders and samples as well as other lo-fi approaches, they’ve blended melodic elements, lush synths, and vocals with warm & fuzzy sound-scapes. The album has a dark, somewhat cynical, yet overall hopeful tone from end to end.

The line-up also features fellow beat-smiths FLOTE (Altered Ego Collective), as well as Swarvy & Josh Hey (Paxico Records).

Dome-wreckin’, head bobbin’, rump shakin’ abound, this is an evening not to be missed.

Beam&Deem

Beam&Deem is the launchpad for the musings of Zach Catarelli and Chris Coffey. A fresh and innovative act that strives to create a multi-sensory experience, catapulting the listener into a sound-scape where classical elements create a welcoming familiarity, but where the air is also tinged with unexpectedness. In an era where the evolution of music involves merging mind with technology, Beam&Deem breathes life into the machine, generating a unique sound that will shake both your mind and your behind.

FLOTE

A buzz is quietly growing around Philadelphia by way of CT musician/producer Matt Tripodi AKA FLOTE’s glitched out yet natural brand of electronic hip hop. FLOTE cuts no corners, crafting synths and meticulously polishing every sound making sure nothing is overlooked or compromised. Instead of focusing on a single emotion, a FLOTE production usually melts many contradicting emotions into one, at times creating an overwhelming state of nostalgia that is truly rewarding for the listener.
