Štefan Kocán returns to the Met this February as Khan Konchak in Prince Igor. He has appeared on major stages around the world, including La Scala, the Vienna State Opera, Bavarian State Opera, Teatre del Liceu, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Berlin’s Deutsche Staatsoper. Since making his Met debut in 2009 as the King in Aida, he has sung more than 60 performances with the company, primarily in Verdi roles such as Ramfis in Aida, Sparafucile in Rigoletto, Ferrando in Il Trovatore, and the Grand Inquisitor in Don Carlo. He has also sung the Commendatore in Mozart’s Don Giovanni and earlier this season appeared as Prince Gremin in Eugene Onegin.
