Anita Rachvelishvili returns to the Met this February as Konchakovna in Borodin’s Prince Igor. She made her Met debut in 2011 as the title heroine of Bizet’s Carmen and has established herself as one of the world’s leading interpreters of the role, having sung it to critical acclaim at La Scala, Arena di Verona, Teatro Verdi in Salerno, the Seattle Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and London’s Royal Opera House. Career highlights include the Princess de Bouillon in a concert performance of Cilea’s Adriana Lecouvreur with Opera Orchestra of New York, Dulcinée in Massenet’s Don Quichotte at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Orfeo in Gluck’s Orfeo et Euridice at Spain’s Castell de Peralada Festival, and the title role of Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri at La Scala.
