Hello Earth! – the music of Kate Bush is intended not to be a mere re-creation of the songbook of British pop star Kate Bush, but is an opportunity for the multi-talented Bleckmann to experiment with the infinite interpretive possibilities available and to put his own creative stamp on the songs. Known for his ability to work in a number of styles including jazz, folk, rock and of course, classical contemporary music, Bleckmann’s resume includes spending 15 years as a core member of Meredith Monk’s ensemble and collaborations with the likes of Laurie Anderson, Michael Tilson Thomas, Bang on a Can All-stars, John Zorn, Michael Gordon, Phil Kline and Ikue Mori.To read more from WQXR, click here!
