Art Battles:
Battle for Poland
Born from the artistic movement in 2001 that blended graffiti and fine art, Art Battles was the first competitive venue where artists could test their skills in front of a live audience. The brain child of Sean Bono and Max Bode, this live painting event introduces a novel way for the audience to participate in the conversation between artist and culture. Now an international art happening, each Art Battles event creates a unique sense of fun, amazing work, and an experience that inspires and involves all those present.

The first Art Battle took place on Houston St. between Mulberry and Mott in an abandoned lot in September 2001. Since then, Art Battles has performed over 100 live shows in NYC. In 2010, Art Battles had shows at Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Museum with an audience of 2500+ people, while still producing "underground" events around the world. Currently working in Madrid and Barcelona, in 2011 Art Battles has also been in Paris, France, Verbier, Switzerland, and Valencia, Spain. In 2012 Art Battles will continue to expand both West to cities like LA and San Francisco, as well as East to cities such as Amsterdam, Prague, and Copenhagen.
