Artists
Danny Robas
Danny Robas is one of Israel's most unique singer/songwriters. Full of energy and passion, his powerful music and original lyrics have made an undeniable mark on the Israeli music scene.
Robas was born in Rehovot on 1957, he started his musical career only after he finished his military service, first as a song writer for other artists. "Misgarot" (Frames), Robas' debut album from 1984 was produced and supervised by one of Israel's most talented Artists- Matti Caspi. Danny wrote and composed all the songs in the album. Although the songs were well played on the radio, the album wasn't sold by its expectations, and was released on the same day Israel's stock market collapsed.
In the end of 1987, Robas' second album "Panim Veshemot" was released. Despite the low budget that was given for its production the album was a big success and was sold for almost 70,000 copies. During this time Robas was touring as a guitarist with Israeli top artist Shlomo Artzi.
1989 was an amazing year for Robas' career. He released his most successful solo album “Baderech El Haosher” (The Path toward the Happiness), which was sold for over 100,000 copies and made Robas a local star. These two projects paved Robas' sensational cross over achievement, and proved beyond any shadow of a doubt Danny’s abilities in all aspects of the artistic process: song-writing, producing and performing.
Throughout the years, Danny has written songs for many well-known Israeli artists: Arik Sinai, Nurit Galron, Vardina Cohen and the Army Bands are to name but a few. He had also (musically) produced albums for diverse artists in various genres. Danny’s deep intrigue and unquenched thirst for new challenges has also led him to compose music for Cinema and Theatre: “Meachorey Hasmicha Halevana" at Habima (Israel National theatre), "Herodes", "Bein Hatziltzulm" at Beit lessin thatre for the freature "Koach Meshicha" and numerous others. Robas' acoustic show will be filled with rhythm and nostalgia. Audiences can expect hits from his 25 years musical career including: "Eich Hu Shar", "Rakavot 68-80-88", "Ani Ba Habaita Mehalayla", "Baderech El Haosher" and many more..
Robas is also known for his love of the Beatles, and in addition to his regular concerts, he has been performing Beatles concerts for many years.
