OFF THE GRID
Raging against the dancing wasteland, OFF THE GRID is a once-a-month event which focuses on dance music that you won't hear on a typical Friday or Saturday night. It will focus on a collage of Mutant Disco, Punk Funk, House, No Wave, Early Electro, Synth, Italo and New Romantics.
Special guest DJs who have contributed, or continue to contribute to expanding the musical spectrum in NY will share the decks each month with the Resident NY DJ Chris Alker of SUBTRAK records.

DJ Chris Alker
Chris Alker, aka The Dance Machine/DJ By Night/The Weatherman has dedicated himself teaching New York how to dance. A self taught social engineer, "rhythm scientist" and street philosopher, he began spinning records, yes real ones, circa 1999 in Austin, TX.
AdoDisJock (Italo NRG NYC)
AdoDisJock, aka Adolfo Merino, is a native New Yorker who began collecting mix tapes at an early age and started vigorously collecting records soon after. He is a self taught DJ who, before long, amassed an impressive collection of Italo, Disco, Hi NRG and synthesized music. Steering clear of the more prevalent forms of club music, he has made it his mission to share his great collection through various events and guest DJ spots in an effort to diversify the sound of NY nightlife.
He has rocked the decks with his rare and unique style at Brooklyn's ' W.J.W.D." (We Just Want To Dance), Manhattan's " Snafu", " Apotheke" and his very own " Italo NRG NYC" event as a Fat Baby Resident.
Italo has certainly become a buzzword once again in the electronic music scene, and it is no doubt that Mr. Merino contributed to its' resurgence.
