Bird Show
About
For over ten years Ben Vida has been writing, recording and releasing records. Playing in such bands as Town and Country, Singer and DRMWPN and playing solo under the name Bird Show.
As the moniker indicates, over the last five years Bird Show’s Ben Vida has expanded the scope and make-up of his once-solo project. Rather than the concentrated and almost hermetic appeal of the first three Bird Show full-lengths (2005’s Green Inferno, 2006’s Lightning Ghost and 2008’s s/t [all released on Kranky]), Vida has broadened and transformed his highly personal musical vocabulary into a more conceptually rigorous artistic practice. The initial tracks were laid down in the summer of 2008 just prior to Vida’s relocation to Brooklyn after more than a decade in Chicago, where he played in a wide range of projects, including Pillow, DRMWPN, and, most notably, the minimalist quartet, Town and Country.
