William Brittelle's "Television Landscape"
About
New Amsterdam is proud to announce the July 27th release of William Brittelle's new indie classical magnum opus Television Landscape. The apocalyptic-yet-hopeful mixed-genre concept album showcases Brittelle's uniquely extensive experience with classical, jazz, and rock music. The influences for Television Landscape vary from Prince's Purple Rain, Michael Jackson's Thriller, and Radiohead's OK Computer, to the complete orchestral works of Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy and the extended harmonies of Charles Mingus.
Called “a riotous shotgun wedding of rich orchestrations and complex arrangements…irresistible” by Steve Smith of The New York Times, Television Landscape is fully notated in every regard, featuring ornate string arrangements, epic guitar solos by Mark Dancigers, and jazz horn sections all performed by critically-acclaimed musicians/members of The Long Count, So Percussion, Alarm Will Sound, NOW Ensemble, The Brooklyn Youth Chorus, Dirty Projectors collaborator Matt Marks and more.
