(le) poisson rouge

Ensemble LPR is the flexible and occasional classical house band of the performance venue (Le) Poisson Rouge in Greenwich Village, New York City (lprnyc.com). Led by LPR's two young founders, Justin Kantor (cello) and David Handler (violin), along with their fellow Manhattan School of Music graduate Orlando Alonso (piano), Ensemble LPR performs music from the early and baroque eras to the contemporary era, and comprises a membership of New York City's most accomplished and forward-thinking young instrumentalists, composers, and improvisers, who themselves personify the venue's aesthetic focus on genre-blind listening and programming.
