Last month The Soundtrack Series hosted Ken Calliat, producer of Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours. As always, Bridget O’Neill was on hand interviewing storytellers and folks in the audience for their Off the Record series and she got an interview with Calliat that you can see below.

Make sure you catch The Soundtrack Series all summer as they do themed shows focusing on the 70s, 80s, and 90s. First up, The Soundtrack Series presents The 70s on June 27th.

Streaming Tonight: An Evening With Nico Muhly

Tonight at 10pm NPR Music, Q2, LPR, and The Metropolitan Opera present a live stream of An Evening with Nico Muhly: “Two Boys” and other works. Muhly will be on-stage performing works from his Metropolitan Opera commissioned opera “Two Boys” as well as other selected favorites with singers Paul Appleby and Jennifer Zetlan, violist Nadia Sirota, and violinists Angela & Jennifer Chun.

The 10pm performance will be broadcast live via NPR Music and Q2. If you live in New York, tickets are still available for both the 7pm and the 10pm performances.

Ólafur Arnalds and Ensemble LPR Perform Together

NPR Music has shared the complete concert video of Ólafur Arnalds performing live at LPR with Ensemble LPR on April 18th. They performed much of Arnalds’ newest album For Now I Am Winter with guest vocalist Arnor Dan, who also appears on the album. Watch the complete set below.

Also, don’t forget that Ensemble LPR will be performing with violinist Jennifer Koh as a part of LPR X 5 (LPR’s 5th anniversary celebration) on June 14th. You can get tickets for that show here.

John Corigliano’s 75th Birthday Concert

Thanks to Q2 Music we have an archived version of the Monday, April 30th concert celebrating composer John Corigliano’s 75th birthday. John Schaefer hosts an evening of Mr. Corigliano’s music performed by Matt Haimovitz, cello; Stephen Gosling, piano; Blair McMillen, piano; Lara St. John, violin; Ursula Oppens, piano; and many others.

The much-celebrated composer has won three Grammys, a Pulitzer, and many other awards, and we are very happy to be able to share this wonderful concert with you again, thanks to Q2.

Iggy Pop & the Stooges Live at LPR

Yeah, Iggy Pop & the Stooges played LPR this past Sunday. It’s impossible to really communicate how excited we were about this one. NPR Music and WNYC’s The Soundcheck broadcast the show live online as Iggy & crew played a few tunes off their upcoming album Ready to Die and a ton of old favorites. Last week Ólafur Arnalds played his ethereal neoclassical soundscapes at LPR with Ensemble LPR, largely performing works from his new album For Now I Am Winter. NBC New York was on hand to talk to Arnalds a little about his process and what it was like playing with a classical ensemble for this performance. We hope to share the full set with you soon. We’ll link to it in our newsletter when it’s available.
